Come one! Come all! It's the Smith-Hammie Light Show!!

As you previously read before on my blog, the 4th of July festivities were held on the 3rd. But that didn't mean we couldn't light off a few of our own fireworks on the 4th!

Dad and I had hit up Walmart a few days prior to the 4th to stock up on some supplies. We ended up buying a large package of fountain fireworks and some long handled sparklers.

So dusk rolls by on the 4th and we head out to the back to set off a few stink bombs. Ya know, the ones that look like this----->

Unfortunately, it hadn't really rained in Michigan all too much the last few weeks so those little stink bombs were actually setting Dad's lawn on fire. We ended up having to move up to the driveway, or else suffer the wrath of the Lawn Gods. Or Dad. Ya know...whichever one comes first.

After the fun with the stink bombs, we decided to move on to bigger and badder things. We opened up the package of Walmart fireworks and started lighting those bad boys off. Imagine our surprise when we came across this little gem:
Now how can you resist lighting off a fountain of fireworks entitled 'Golden Showers'?! Trust us. There were many a joke told with that one.

Isn't it pretty? All nice and yellow-like....

After that fun, Cassie had mentioned that she wanted to try and draw a heart out of sparklers and wanted us to take a picture of it. For the life of us, we couldn't get it to work. Finally, Dad changed the setting on the camera to allow for a longer exposure and we ended up getting it to work. We spent most of the night coming up with designs to spell out.

Jack wasn't too impressed with his sparkler....

We finally figured it out! We spelled out LOVE for our main man - Jon. Awwww.....

Messing around....

To infinity! AND BEYOND!

Awww...Look! We spelled Jon....

Look Ma! A smilie face!

A special message for my hubby....

Besides lighting off a bunch of fire crackers that would wake the dead and leave little dents in everyones car, this is pretty much how we spent our 4th of July evening.

Oh! Before I forget! We did play some cards earlier in the day. Of course Jon got in on some of that action...

This is what Jon is going to look like with gray hair.

Finally, Jon chilling out while we kick his butt at cards!
That Jon! He's always good for a laugh!
